Job Summary

Midwest Express Clinic is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Developer to join our growing team. This is a newly created role and will be an integral part of MEC’s commitment to providing Healthcare with Heart enabling the organization to make data driven decisions and track key metrics across a variety of platforms. The Senior Data Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the data warehouse architecture and data pipelines, integrating data from various source systems into the data warehouse. This role ensures the efficient, accurate, and secure flow of data from various sources into the data warehouse, supporting the organization's data analytics and business intelligence initiatives. This position will work across teams to ensure data integrity and accessibility while collaborating with a team of Business Analysts. The senior Data Architect and must be able to operate and navigate in a fast-paced, highly entrepreneurial environment. This is a hybrid position located in the Chicagoland market.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Design and optimize data models and schemas for the data warehouse.
  • Implement data warehousing best practices to ensure data quality, performance, and scalability.
  • Monitor and tune data warehouse performance, ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to move data from source systems to the data warehouse, as well as from the data warehouse to various target systems.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency during data transfers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data integration issues promptly.
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures.
  • Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders, BI analysts, and other IT teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with data integration specialists to ensure seamless data flow.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data architectures, ETL processes, and data models.

  • Provide training and support to other team members and end-users on data-related best practices and tools.

Education, Experience, and Systems Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in data architecture and integration related positions.
  • Proven experience in data architecture, data engineering, and data warehousing.
  • Proven experience in data integration, ETL processes, reverse ETL processes, and data pipeline development.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and database management systems (SQL Server, Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, Domo, etc).
  • Strong proficiency in ETL and data integration tools (boomi, Jitterbit, Matillion, etc).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to investigate and understand business requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and implement the required design.

Compensation: This is a full-time, exempt position with a salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 depending upon the candidate's skills and experience.
