Midwest Express Clinic operates affordable walk-in immediate care facilities across the Midwest, including the Chicagoland area, which focus on the patient’s care and satisfaction. As an independent healthcare organization, we have no agenda to push expensive diagnostic testing and unnecessary specialty referrals.
Our clinics are open 7 days a week: Monday-Friday, 8AM - 8PM and Saturday & Sunday, 8AM-6PM.
Position Summary:
The Bilingual Medical Scribe works alongside our medical providers during patient visits, documenting clinical interactions into the EMR system. This role is essential in improving workflow, supporting patient communication, and ensuring quality documentation—particularly with our Spanish-speaking patient population.
This is position has multiple options for shift requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately document patient history, physical exams, procedures, and provider notes into the EMR in real-time.
- Translate between English and Spanish as needed to facilitate patient-provider communication.
- Review patient records for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and clinic policies.
- Assist providers with clerical tasks such as retrieving lab results, documenting orders, and prepping discharge instructions.
- Ensure timely and thorough documentation to optimize patient care flow.
- Stay current with clinical terminology and documentation standards.
- Fluent in both English and Spanish (spoken and written).
- Previous experience as a medical scribe, medical assistant, or in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and documentation practices.
- Familiarity with EMR systems.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- High School diploma required but Bachelors is preferred.
This role has an expected hourly range of $18 - $20
